From the month of June eight of
University of Maryland’s twenty seven sports teams will no longer exist.
Dr. Wallace Loh the president of Maryland
said that it was one of the most painful and heart wrench decision taken by him.
Today is a day of unhappiness because we have to say goodbye to members of the athletic
family in Maryland," says Dr. Wallace Loh.
- All three men’s track teams
- Men’s swimming and diving
- Men’s tennis
- Women’s water polo
- Women’s acrobatics and tumbling
So Students think about the
sports team loss?
"I thought it was ridiculous
the University of Maryland and an ACC school. How could we not have a tennis
team? That seem ridiculous to me," says student Stephen Dessel and by
these 166 athletes and 12 coaches are affected.
The Maryland
sports programs will end in June
2012.
