Chief financial officer outed as maligner of Loftin - A&M athletics

On October, a poster dubbed UtayAg on the popular Texas A & M athletics fan website TexAgs opined, "I have to admit that the foolishness on this board always brings me rear to the tip that I know I am not the dumbest out here.

His man posters ask for to differ Jeff Toole, A&M athletics chief financial officer and senior associate athletic director, admitted Tuesday that he has disparage A&M president R. Bowen Loftin on TexAgs - dubbing Loftin a "putz" and a "desperately under qualified puppet" - under the alias of UtayAg.

"I was posting what I thought was an unspecified opinion," Toole said Tuesday. Toole was outed on the website by a poster dubbed "iPanic" who searched UtayAg's posting history and found one from May 5, 2010; in which UtayAg identify himself as the Aggies' CFO for athletics."That slip my mind," Toole said when asked why he thought he was posting secretly when he had already identified himself under the handle.

Toole, who was graduated from A&M athletics in 1980, makes $200,000 yearly, according to the Texas Tribune. He has held the position for about 2.6 years and was brought onboard to help A&M athletics through a financial and also that includes repaying the university a $16 million loan.

Athletic programs rule today

Graham Spanier, William C. Powers and James R. Ramse for the record they are not household names. When it comes to their salary it's though they are working in dissimilar worlds not on the same campus.

Totally there are 90 football and basketball coaches making more than one dollar million a year, including Brown, who split ends out the football list at around five million dollars at Texas, and Pitino and who brings in more than seven million dollars at Louisville. In the meantime, there are only 10 presidents at the nation's 185
largest public universities taking home more than 725,000 dollars annually.

But it happens all from corner to corner America when multimillion-dollar athletic programs become the face of a university.

Athletic Student checked for heart risks:

Aurora Central Catholic High School parent Laurel Beatty is conscious of the potential threat of cardiovascular disease in student athletes.

"You want your children to have the self-determination to contribute in sports, but in the rear of your mind is the thought something could happen," Beatty said.

Young person athlete deaths in latest years have given parents reason to think twice about their active health for their child and given school sports programs motivation to provide heart screenings for undetected heart conditions.

On Saturday, a steady flow of parents and student athletes on behalf of a cross-section of boys and girls sports around the area came to Aurora Central for heart screenings by the nonprofit Athletic Heart Metabolic & Cardiac Research Institute.

ACC’s athletic department supports the screenings as a preventive measure.
